Whether your little one is confident and chatty, shy and cautious or somewhere in between, our preschool dance program is designed to gently introduce your child to movement, routine and group learning in a way that feels safe & fun.

1. My child hasn’t done anything like this before – what if they are nervous?

This is one of the most common questions we hear from parents. Its completely normal for your little one to feel nervous.

Many of our preschool dancers are attending their first ever class.  That’s why at Glue Dance Studio we focus on making your child comfortable and building trust and connection.

When your child arrives at Glue, they will be welcomed by name and introduced to their Australian Animal Mascot.  They pop their drink bottle on their name tag, sit on their mat all with their mascots picture.  This helps young children to settle in and feel secure.

We offer parent-involved and parent watching class options, so your child doesn’t have to manage big emotional leaps all at once.  Some children will join in straight away and others will watch for their first weeks.  And both are OK.

There’s no pressure here.  Just gentle encouragement and lots of smiles.

2. Is dance just for fun – or is it actually helping my child grow?

While our classes are full of fun and laughter, everything we do is carefully designed to support early childhood development.

Through movement and music, your child is learning to:

• Follow simple instructions
• Build confidence away from parents
• Develop co-ordination, balance and body awareness
• Practice listening, taking turns and social interaction
• Express themselves creatively through movement and storytelling

These skills will support your child in preschool, kindergarten and big school.

3. WILL MY CHILD COPE WITH THE CLASS – OR GET OVERWHELMED?

Our preschool classes are designed specifically with little learners in mind.  Classes are:

• Short enough to suit preschool attention spans
• Structured, but playful and flexible
• Filled with imaginative themes children understand and love

One moment your child might be hopping like a kangaroo, the next tip-toeing through a magical fairy garden!

Your child will quickly come to know what happens in class each week, which helps them feel calm and confident.
